At RUS Industrial, as with most companies, the goal is zero safety incidents. But what’s most important is how companies act upon this goal. In analyzing the concept of safety and safe practices, RUS chose to integrate multiple business practices into a manageable, common sense approach to help mitigate all company loss. The tool RUS used to help implement this framework is the Loss Prevention System™.
LPS™ is a comprehensive system that integrates multiple business processes while allowing RUS Industrial to consistently improve practices and reinforce the importance of safety. At RUS, safety isn’t just a goal, it’s an entirely different approach to doing business that touches every aspect of what we do, how we act, and the decisions we make. This wholistic approach to eliminating loss has resulted in an exceptional safety record:
An Experience Modifier Rate is a numbered rating that represents a business’s workers compensation claims history and safety record as compared to other businesses in the same industry. A 0.64 EMR is substantially below average and considered an excellent Experience Modifier Rate.
The Total Recordable Incident Rate is a metric used to compare a company’s safety performance against a national or state average. This comparison is a safety benchmark to gauge performance with other companies in the same business group, to make an “apples to apples” comparison. A 0.0 TRIR represents the best safety rate possible and RUS Industrial is proud to say our TRIR has been 0.0 for four straight years.
Spend some time with us, and you’ll find that the culture at RUS resembles a tight-knit family. A sense of genuine commitment and professional collaboration keeps everyone engaged and accountable. We consider our clients to be part of our extended family and treat them with the same high regard as we treat each other.
